Is there a remote controlled switch that could be put on a buried coax?

Alternatively, is there a device that could be clamped onto a buried coax to degrade the signal?

1) Yes

2) Channel Locks(tm)

Seriously, what are you trying to do?

Just having some backyard fun. Care to elaborate on these devices?

I stated my intent in the first post....

I would like to be able to turn a Comcast signal on and off from a remote location. Or I would like to clamp a device to the coaxial that would degrade the signal enough to be functional but poor. If this was a switching device as well, that would be a plus. Both devices would need to be coupled in line with the buried coax instead of at the demarcation point.

If it's before the demarc it belongs to Comcast, don't jack with it.
There are attenuators but without knowing levels or even what it is you think you want to do there isn't much anyone can do to help short of just guessing. Which is kind of just a waste of time

Get a remote control switch to cut the power to the particular box you want to kill. Walmart has them for $15.
