Conversation between dispatch and a volunteer fire chief during a structure fire. (A great chief btw!)

Dispatch- "1301 would you like to send other units to your location?)

Chief- "Oh yeah! Emergency traffic! This thing is in full bloom!"

A few months ago I heard a similar call where someone drove out of a supermarket parking lot with an open container of beer on the roof of their car. The r/p suspected DUI for some reason...

During overhaul of a structure fire recently:
Battalion Chief: Put as much pressure on the line, as you can. *pause* Without blowing up the truck.

LOL! That so sounds like some fun times as a Volunteer,.. Pull up to house fire with only whats in the truck, tanker is at least fifteen to twenty minutes out. Howdy, there is a POND! Back as close as can and still run lines to house and pond... Run a feed line to the pond. Once fire was out.... Then see that the back tires are rather deep in soft muddy grass. OOPS!

A number of years ago, a friend heard these two different police dispatches................

"Respond to Tiny's bar; a fight inside and outside".

"On xxxxxx Street. Investigate a disorderly crowd in a Volkswagen".

Fire dept was toned out to a brush fire on the highway. When the first engine arrived on scene the size up was being given over the radio, and all of a sudden someone in the back ground, presumably the engineer yells out "get out of the f***** road!". The captain quickly got off the radio, and re gave the size up a few moments later. It was probably some lookie lou in the road or parked on the shoulder, but i'm not sure who it was directed at...
