Panasonic RF 2200 Battery/AC power

Newbie/Rookie here..

I recently acquired a Panasonic rf2200 in mint condition, it works great and I want to keep it that way, I have a silly question though, If I have the batteries in it, but decide I want to run it off the AC power (or vise versa) will it switch automatically back and forth? I only ask because its obviously older technology and I would simply hate to fry something that I saved up for so long.

The RF-2200 is a great radio, along with it's European cousin the DR-22. The batteries last a very long time you will find.
