Old Equipment Need to Upgrade

I have a BC60XLT-1 bought in 2006, great scanner but uses 4 NI-CDs. Also have a BC246T bought in 2007.
Will County Public agencies now all are encrypted and the scanner AC adapter is non functioning. So the 246 is just as useful as 60 except I only use 2 Ni-MHs.

I really like the BC60's functionality and ease of use, would like to replace it with the current equivalent scanner and ditch the 246. I would like to just use NI-MH rechargeables.

Any advice.

Just FYI, NiMH will work fine in a BC60 - and last longer than NiCd.

I see your in Crete, I do believe there like Joliet and "ENC" but you can hear the rest od Will County on there new system as its in the clear....So far there Phase I and you should be able to pick up a Uniden 396XT now with new units coming out ….It will hear WCo fine as long as they stay as I mentioned P1....
