This site is pretty cool to check distance "as the crow flies". Real usefull when trying to figure out how far away that station is.

Not very useful unless you're driving a crow. Such Amateur Radio software has been around for years and it has a whole lot more functionality.

FYI, it was such at the core of the problem when the dope GPS navigated his car onto the railroad tracks. If you want a good belly laugh ask Goggle (or any map service that shares with it) for directions from New York to London.

I found it useful as I am in the country and I am trying to see what surrounding counties/cities I have a shot at receiving. For instance, I have a small city about 23 miles away "as the crow flies" that I can pick up pretty good and when I pick up other cities I can see approximately how far away they are.

I am going to try an build a UHF and a VHF yagi and play with it so it will be nice to know how far away I am from anything I may pick up.
