I updated the Cobb DTRS database to show 31619 at the new GSP Post 9 talkgroup. GSP put about 30 more troopers up the I-75 corridor to slow down speeders, catch dui's and work accidents - to free up the Cobb/Marietta officers.

GSP went active on Monday this week and it is a very busy channel!

I'm keeping my eyes and ears peeled to confirm the talkaround channel (they aren't referring to one yet) on the Cobb DTRS. BUT you will hear them say switch over to 'car-to-car'...this is not on the trunk...they are still doing the old trick of transmitting on the base frequency (avoiding using the repeater) of their State VHF radio using the old 155.9100 Atlanta repeater system...if you have a long enough antenna and are a few miles from the troopers you will hear the conversation if you still have 155.9100 plugged in. Lots of good chit chat with all these extra troopers on this frequency if you are in range of the mobiles talking.

Troop C Repeater

I know what the RR Database says but can someone confirm that the 155.910 repeater frequency uses a PL tone of 192.8? I never hear traffic on that channel with that tone. I've also seen a frequency list that shows it as 103.5.

A few months ago someone posted a bunch of talkgroups they picked up on Cobb. 2 of them were
31629 & 31649. Since 31619 is now confirmed, could these other 2 be secondary channels?

that's correct, 155.91 out, 155.19 in, PL 192.8
I suspect it's off the air re: no longer in use as troop C primarily operates on the various metro DTRS's now and it's not narrowbanded either.

But they do use the output (talkaround) quite a bit!

If you don't have the VHF channels programmed in, you are missing out on a lot of good traffic. When the GSP in car radio is switched to a 'car/car' channel it transmits at 10 watts.

Any idea what they are using in Gwinnett? I saw 4 GSP cars near the 85/316 split last Friday.
