I passed my tech exam over a month ago and my license appeared in the FCC database on time. I was also expecting some type of physical license to come in the mail from the FCC eventually, but I never got it. I only got a couple letters from the FCC stating they registered me with something called CORES and a password. Have they changed the rules in recent years? I always thought a person also received a physical license in the mail.

They no longer issue paper licenses. You have to request one from the ULS web site or download and print an official copy yourself.

this is a site that you can print one out. ]AE7Q's Amateur Radio Tools[/url] You can print incolor or black and white. AE7Q's Amateur Radio Tools

If you use this site, what you will get is a "Reference Copy" of your license. If an official copy is required for some purpose, this will no suffice. If you want an Official Copy of your license printed on fancy paper, then the best way is to download it and print it yourself.
