Greetings;

Just passing on this info to any folks who enjoy monitoring County Services and/or Parks Bureau units on LASD (CH 48) SCC Access Channel; I've posted the following regarding the "variety" of callsigns you might hear on any given day. Some units/callsigns may never be heard on the working frequency, as some are hospital security and use "direct" (simplex) mode only.

Here is the breakdown on OCS and PKB Callsigns:

OFFICE OF COUNTY SERVICES (OCS)

OCS Desk: 850D
Dispatch Channel: SRC ACC
Hospital Dispatch - Primary: Internal hospital radio system (not on SCC consoles)
Hospital Dispatch - Secondary: SRC ACC when out of hospital or roving
L-Tac Channel: Countywide L-Tac (old C-Tac 2/CSI channel 16)

Facilities (Non-Hospital) 850-853 Units

850 units – General bureau support
851 units – County facilities in the civic center area.
852 units – South Zone units
853 units - North Zone units

Calls for service, hits, voice messages and requests to/from any 850-853 units will be handled according to standard SCC protocol.

Health Services (Hospitals) 854-859 Units

854 units – Harbor-UCLA Medical Center: 1000 W. Carson St, Torrance (CAS)
855 units – Martin Luther King Jr. Hospital: 12021 S. Wilmington Ave, LA (CEN)
856 units – Rancho Los Amigos: 7601 E. Imperial Hwy, Downey (Downey PD)
857 units – LA County USC Medical Center: 1200 N. State St, LA. (LAPD Hollenbeck)
858 units – Olive View Hospital: 14445 Olive View Dr, Sylmar (LAPD Mission)
859 units – High Desert Health System: 44900 North 60th St West (LAN)

OCS is also responsible for the security and policing of many of the county’s health clinics.

Voice messages and requests to/from any Hospital units (854-859) on SCC ACC will be handled according to standard SCC protocol.

PARS BUREAU

Parks Bureau Desk: 830D
Dispatch Channel: SRC ACC
L-Tac Channel: Countywide L-Tac (old C-Tac 2/CSI channel 16)

831A/B – Antelope Valley area
831D – Castaic and Santa Clarita Valley areas
831E – Altadena, San Fernando and Crescenta Valleys
833A – Whittier Narrows area
833B – Bonelli area
833E – East LA area
834B – Castaic Lake
834P – Pyramid Lake
836 – South LA County

“X” units are extra patrol/special assignments
“H” units are mounted enforcement

834 units are often on boats with no MDT’s and may run numerous subjects over the air.

Calls for service, hits, voice messages and requests to/from any 830 unit will be handled according to standard SCC protocol.

Hope this helps!

-Enjoy

To add a little,

830D/850D are the same OCS handles dispatch and call taking for Parks Bureau. They work out of the old HRC facility in the basement of the Hall of Records.

The dividing line between North and South OCS units is the 10 frwy.

Park Tac is a secondary tac channel for Parks Bureau but it is onlyy in direct mode (ie line of sight).

By the way Eric, it's good to see you on here. Chris stops by every now and then too.

Forgot to add,

833B, B1, B2, B3 cover the "Bonelli Beat" basically the county parks in/around San Dimas Station's area.

833B4, B5, B6 cover the "Schabarum Beat" basically the county parks in/around Walnut Station's area and some Industry Station.

833B7 during the summer time is dedicated to Raging Waters

833B8 is a late night east zone cover car. Basically covers everything from East L.A. to the San Berdo County line.

I'm unclear here, the database still shows two county wide tacs. Have these been reassigned to other functions? The database also shows 476.100 as parks tac, is this incorrect?

The Park tac freq is correct but is seldom used. It is direct only and mainly used just inside the larger regional parks as a 2nd car to car channel. Unless you are pretty close you won't pick it up.
