Can anyone confirm that Q116 has been taken out of service and the four personnel each shift deployed as follows

Squad 10 (2)

LF127 is now E127 and Q127 with either 3 or 4 on the engine?

Any other changes?

It would seem shifting the Quint from 159 to 158's made this movement easier to implement

Q116 is still in service.

F10 was moved to 127's and is now F127. If F127 is deployed E10 will respond with F127 as the Task Force.

LF127 has been disbanded and Q127 is stand alone now. The engine that was part of the Light Force is now E100 in Hermosa Beach.

S10 has been added to Battalion 7.

FS36 district has now been split and E236 has its own "district". (Trying to be like 9's but 9's actually had it's own district before being moved to 16's)

Clear as mud ??

On pulse Point there is an E127 that responded to the Malibu fire this AM, otherwise it does look like Q127 is running the calls in district, so is E127 cross-manned?

I cringe every time a Quint becomes the sole company for a district. In my book it is supposed to be a regional unit only. I'm living in the past I guess.

I think I got it now, two bodies each shift from the LF are now S10? I takes me a while for it to click. I am still stuck in the days of FFW, Dominguez, Commerce and Universal FPD engines.. LOL

Loving that call sign. When I was a kid I was a fixture at 15's KBO582 mid to late 70's, ten-speed hanging from the hose tower and all. Being that call signs are usually issued in sequential order back then do you suppose 9's, 16, and 15's (which was supposed to be 108's) were the first to get SCU's? 15's and 9's (Makee) when the stations opened? The two look like they were built at about the same time. BTW there is an exact replica of the Makee Station, or at least pretty darn close in Orange close to Main St and Chapman.

I never have seen an FCC license for a station with an earlier call sign. Just a little hunch.

County took over fire protection for Hermosa Beach I think January 1st at 0800. As for seeing E127 on pulse point most likely an error. My info is from LA County fire official twitter and a few buffs from out that way.

You did see E127. The light force was split and both units were fully staffed.

15's, 16's and 9's call signs were sequential but I don't know who had the first SCUs.

1's, 2's, 3's, 13's, 22's, 27's, 32's, 50's and 89's call signs all started with KWH.

107's was KSU 510 and then there was a gap as 165's was KSU 513 and 164's was KSU 514.

I wish I knew the rhyme and/or reason on how they doled out the SCUs and licenses. Somewhere in a dusty old box in my garage is a notebook with the station numbers and scu call signs as well as the equipment in each from back in the early to mid 70's. Should be an couple of old Thomas Bros map books with all the fire stations in L.A. County and surrounding agencies labled also. Did a lot of travelling by 10-Speed til I got a car in '77. Good times !

To my surprise the county has kept all those SCU base station FCC licenses valid, or almost all, including 9's. It shows the old address on Makee, but was renewed in 2014 for 154.43. It is searchable by frequency by clicking on any call sign on radioref site, clicking on show fcc query at bottom of page,,then new search.

The split of 36's district seems to be along 223rd street with E36 having south of 223rd, and E236 north of it.

Also seems like a proposal many years ago for a station to be located near the Carson Mall is on the shelf. Would have been a good location to move E236 and Q116.
