Modering Metrolink Valley sub

I've been trying to monitor Metrolink on a valley sub and live a block away from CP burbank it hard to pick up traffic on 160.545 any help. Use bcd 436hp. Won't a Watson 801 atena

Probably the same as the SG Sub, the dispatcher is using a local transmitter along the right-away.

Not sure where the high level base station is in the S F Valley.

I doubt a Watson 801 antenna would be any better than a 17" whip. Save your money.

I've been monitoring the valley sub from Burbank/Glendale for many years with a handheld with stock antenna... I only hear traffic if I'm within a mile or two of the tracks and only when a train happens to be going by so I always assumed they are on low power transmitters along the right-of-way, as previously stated, and are triggered when a train is in proximity.
