Exclamation Technical Services Memo Vol 39 #05 | TM8200, TM9100, TM9300 and TM9400 Mobiles

Technical Services Memo Vol 39 #05

Category: TM8200, TM9100, TM9300 and TM9400 Mobiles using Hand Held Control Heads (HHCH)

Subject: Power On/Off with HHCH Radios

Summary: Two issues with recent supply of curly cord parts for the HHCH have occurred causing intermittent failure for the end-users to Power-On and/or Off the radio from the Control Head’s On/Off button.

Problem 1:

There are issues around the edges of the RJ45 plug plastics creating a lip over the end pin contact. See circled area below – looking into the front of the RJ45 plug.

Problem 2:
A second problem with the crimping of the RJ45 came to light on the production line. Two HHCH were found in the FGStock audit with intermittent on/off problem. A close inspection of the RJ45 showed they were ‘overcrimped’ which causes the contact with the socket to be intermittent.

Action:
Check all Hand Held Control Heads received between May 1st 2017 through July 10th, 2017.
If any Hand Held Control Head curly cords (Part# IPN 219-03080-01) are identified having this issue, please contact Customer Care Center for a replacement.

Angry

I have been trying to upload the PDF file for this TSM for two days.

For months now, Radio Reference has been really wonky about uploading attachments.

I just tried and failed again.

Anyone have any ideas what is going on ???
