Default Harris portable display

Have used motorola radios at work and my volly FD for years, we are switching to a Harris p25 phase 2 system and I was just wondering why Harris displays are some simple and even cheap looking with very
Little info. Motorola radios have a bit more info and on trunked systems give you signal strength, Harris has pretty much nothing, at least on ours. Is it program dependent or is that the way they are. Good radios and system works great so no real complaints just wondering
Thanks

It was never a design requirement.

Simplicity was it virtue. What the user needed to operate without all the non-essential stuff.

And it made it Cop Proof.
