• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

I am trying to program a Harris radio to a P25 Phase I Trunking System. I am having to write a new personality since most of our P25 radios were switched to Motorola during an upgrade. Therefore I don’t have a Harris codeplug for our P25 System. My chief said he wants to use this Harris radio to just monitor from home so he said it doesn’t need transmit capabilities if possible. I am running into issues when programming it because when I write the personality the radio just shows CC Scan. Can someone please shed some light on programming a P25 Phase I System for a Harris radio? I am using RPM 13. If possible can someone please upload or PM me an example of what the RPM system info should look like. I kind of feel like the issue I am having is getting the IDEN set configured. Thanks in advance for your help!

There are several things that could be going on here as multiple items must be considered when crosswalking vendor equipment. My first question is if you have legitimate programming authority on the system and are working with a legit RID/LID specific to that radio? Next question is what model radio you are working with and if you have the Harris AAC authorization for the WACN/System ID in question? Final question is if you have the appropriate features enabled on the radio and if the system uses LLA?

Yes,the radio lid is legitimate. I am working with an XG-75P. Yes, the AAC seems to be working otherwise it wouldn’t let me program the system in. I just have not had to write a personality for Harris P25 Phase I before. I am planning to do receive only just to test until I can get someone to come out from the shop to verify it’s all good before letting it on the system.

Make sure you have the correct system information on the codeplug. I had the same issue and it turned out I had the wrong system nac.
