Are you refferring to one the actual radio, or on a scanner?

If you mean a scanner, NO there is no scanner made that can decode iether Provoice digital, or AEGIS modes.

I am trying to program a MRK Scan radio and I get a message that reads

"Number of characters in the feature data string must be even, Please check data"

Is the "feature data string" the RSS is talking about here the same feature sets being discussed here?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Is there a way to pull up the features on an M-RK with a key sequence if I don't have access to the programming setup?

You have to have a keypad key or a menu item that is programmed as "Features." This has to be done through the Programmer.

Default Orion Help

I am trying to get Pro-Voice on my Orion. Currently I do not have the feature "29" loaded in the radio. Is there a download "patch" or something I can get from someone/somewhere to install into my radio? I have the ProGrammer software and the Radio Maintenance Software. Please advise, thanks.

Try checking the spacing at the end of the feature string. Move the cursor to the end, if you have a space after the last digit in the string, hit backspace. I have seen many times putting a space after tha last character gives you an uneven data string.

WC, i think your list might be a bit more accurate than the first one.

working with some news crews, i became aware that some LPE's showed the Option 21 in the radio, which seemed odd since we weren't using ESK until just recently.

now it seems Option 21 is necessary to do the ESK programming at the local MA/COM shop.

is it safe to assume that you have most options less-then-or-equal-to the greatest numbered option shown in your firmware?

meaning, if you have Option 29, does that assume you also have Option 21?

Hi, keep in mind that you also need the decode board #C50 installed & Opt-29

I think it should be pointed out that just because a feature exists on that list it doesn't mean that you can add it to your radio. The feature list is broad, it covers the entire product line. The only way you'll know for sure what you can and can't add is to contact your dealer.

Also, the other way to look at the features in your radio is to use the "Radio Maint" software that comes with Programmer. You should be using this software to read both your tracking and feature data and save it to a disk. That way if your radio ever needs work or loses its mind you can simply upload the tracking and feature data back into it. Anyway, once you've read the feature data from the radio, there is a place in the software that will tell you what are loaded.

In Programmer, under the programmable menus section, you can select FEATURES. Once you program the radio with that enabled, you can then go to the menu and go to the features menu and it will list the installed features.

The easiest way to find out what is really in your radio is to call M/A-COM TAC (800-528-7711) and give them the serial number of the radio. They can tell you exactly what is in the radio. In order to add features, you have to call TAC and give them the physical serial number and electronic serial number of the radio and they then generate a new feature string that is entered into the radio by using the Radio Maintenance software. They keep a record of every radio ever made and every feature that may have been added.
