This radio has been out some time now, but I hear little about it. I did read some good reviews when it first appeared, saw a bit in the forums, and got some incidental information while looking. But overall, it seems like this radio may not be in such widespread use.
I suppose this may be because the radio is not so different to the excellent predecessor radio, the PL660. I have seen a review comparing them, and the 680 did look good in the narrative.
I am an old swl, I do have a R-75, and a sdr, but most listening is done in bed nowadays, and it is about 75% FM and some light swl listening. I use the Tecsun PL 310 ET for this, and it does work well. I am thinking about a Tecsun PL680 or a PL 880. The price difference is not so much an issue as the ease of use--I love the light weight of the PL310 as I am extremely nearsighted.
There is quite a bit of information on the PL 880, but much less on the PL680. I would be pretty happy with the pl-600 if it had synch capability on sw, and airband is not of interest.
I am looking for some PL 680 users to give some impressions on that radio. I appreciate any input, and hope it will be of interest to others, as well. I will say "thanks" now to all respondents, and not clutter the thread with more of my wordy comments.
Thanks!
