32" sanyo flatscreen losing video

I have a 32" sanyo flatscreen, and when watching dvds, the video cuts in and out. Have tried both the conventional rca input and both composite 5 cable inputs. Same on all three. Just keeps going from video to black on and off contiuously. Have tried different cables, dvd players, even a vcr. Yes i still have one of those. Now regular tv works perfect, just video inputs. My kids cant even play their wii anymore. The only thing i havent tried is hdmi, but at the high cost of those cables im a little scared to blow that much and have the same problem. Any ideas what may be going on?
