• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

I need to have a channel where a regular communication in talk around simplex takes place. At the same time I need to monitor repeater output on other channel.
I have set the TA channel as digital priority channel.
So far the priority channel seems to behave as it should, transmissions on it are heard with minimum interruption from the repeater channel.

But when I try to call via the repeater channel, the call is not registered unless I make 3 transmissions on the repeater.
This includes also the ALLCALL!
If I transmit on the repeater output in talk around mode, the call is registered (slightly delayed by prio scan) but it is registered fine.
ALLCALL on talk around (repeater output) captured the receiver almost immediately.

Any idea why the repeater has such big problem to reach the radios?

Does a non scanning radio on the repeater channel brings it up the first time it's keyed?
Are you still scanning the simplex channel when you switch to the repeater channel?
Sounds like scan TX mode could be a problem if you are.

Yes, non scanning radio reacts imediately as expected.
Even when the scanning is a non priority, it reacts normal.

The scann takes:
1.prio simplex channel Freq1
2. nonprio repeater output at Freq2
3. nonprio simplex (same as repeater out in fact) on Fre2

The task is, while rather heavy communication takes place on the prio channel on F1, the stations should still be reachable on the Repeater Network on F2. As the repeater is mobile and can be on air or not, simplex channel (as repeater bypass) is used as well. Landing on the F2 simplex channel will make tx during the landing time in simplex, while receiving on repeater channel on F2 should make tx via repeater during landing time.

Note that when switching prio scann off, behaviour is ok, however it is desired that the F1 has priority.
