If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Hi guys

I,m in the uk and usually programming motorola dmr radios so be easy on me cause the icom programming is a little different to what i,m used to doing so i,m hoping you can help me .

I have the CS-3160 V2.4 software and my idas IC-F4161DS radio with the UT126H board and after monitoring dsdplus these idas/nxdn details came up

Group call; TG=3-1991 RID=3-580 Ch=3 3s

now i,ve tried to program these into my 4161DS but it wouldnt allow me to enter the group 3-1991 into the software so i tried 3 and then tried 1991 and still i,m getting no audio at all yet i can hear the audio being transmitted on the sdr sharp software thats running in the background ?

can anybody point me in the right direction on what needs to be programmed and where in the cps i have to edit to make this work in my radio or am i reading the group info wrong off dsdplus and i shouldnt input the minus sign as part of the group info ?

I added these details to the individual id list and the talkgroup id list which is under the digital section of the dropdown boxs in the software , i then clicked on the memory CH box where the radios frequencys are setup and scrolled to right till the digital box appeared and changed the unit id to the same as the RID on dsdplus and wrote these to the radio but again nothing so again any help is appreciated if you can show me where i,m going wrong !

thanks in advance
