If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

I've tried searching these forums and general internet for help on this question but haven't gotten close to an answer yet.
I have F4001s that we use for company traffic and one channel dedicated to the internal Response Team. What I'm trying to figure out is if there is a way to transmit a tone or a set of audible tones across that channel to get the attention of the team. We often have our radios on scan and sometimes in a loud environment and some people miss dispatches.
I have the CS-F3000 software and cables and can handle the basics of programming the radios. But haven't been able to find a way of doing this. I've played around a bit with the emergency button and with 2/5 tones, depending on LMR v. PMR (all radios are currently set up as LMR).
Any advise would be appreciated. Thank you,

Program on of the side buttons to be a CALL button. In the Memory channel window scroll to the right to the section about 2TONE, and in the TX column set it to any of the available default tone frequencies, since its just going to be an attention-getter. Now when you press the CALL button that radio will transmit the tone freq. across that channel.

I don't have access to the programming software or radios right now, but would setting up a call button with 2TONE work with a frequency using CTCSS tones?

What i'm looking for is to transmit an alert tone on one particular frequency that uses tx and rx CTCSS tones (same tone on rx and tx.)
