Default EX-1489 software issue cant find com port

trying to program my f-40 but the software cant find the com port on my CF-29.
I have tried changing settings, etc no luck

Any ideas?

Is the com port enabled in the BIOS?
What version of Windows are you running?
Is the proper driver for the com port installed on the laptop?
Does the Computer Management show the com port is active?
Did you set the baud rate to the proper speed on the com port?
