Default Better HT Antenna for 4161DT

Hi, folks. Any ideas for a monoband antenna upgrade for this radio, please? Lots of dual band upgrades but I cant find a monoband, If not, opinions on the best dual bander for 440 use would be appreciated. Thanks.

Try looking into a FASC61UC. It's a OEM antenna but is field tunable. You can cut it to favor the 440 band. I've used a bunch on the VHF band with good results.

Thanks, I will. Trying to figure out why my signal from (and presumably to) a next-door 440 machine is so lousy. Can barely hear it and only seeing one bar on the meter. So I'll start with an antenna upgrade.

By next-door how far do you mean? Is it something new or has it always been lousy?

A few years ago my wife decided she wanted to replace out incandescent and CFL lighting in the house, well we did save some money on electrics, but my HT coverage from local repeaters (RX'ing) got knocked down by 50 percent in or around the house due to the RFI the LED's generated.

Well, my Icom, Yaesu and Kenwood HTs are full quieting in and out, and even the CCHs perform as well. Just this reprogrammed Icom. Thanks again for helping me.

Depends on the band split of his radio. It's either a 400-470 or 450-512.
