Default IC-R8600 telnet interface

Hooked up my brand new 8600 to my LAN to get ntp time. Did a scan and behold - there is a telnet port on the radio. No credentials required, just log in with 'telnet <ipaddress>' and you are logged in.

Unfortunately I cant get any useful response, only 'command not found'. And I tried most 3- and 4-letter words know to the IT business (get, put, load, dump and so on). No joy.

So I looked into the 1.30 binary. No joy either with an easy to find command table.

What I found with 'strings' is:
* some mentions of "RX3818", like Eric mentioned in another thread
* 'Renesas' here and there
* some clear text error messages as one can see on the screen (Scope out of range and so on)

But nothing which would suggest the purpose of the telnet interface. Too bad. Has anybody else played around with this interface?
