Does anyone have any of the 8200 versions that they can compare to?

Or, how about the old R20. Does anyone have both R20 and R30 that they can compare?

I'm mostly interested in the 108 - 137 frequency range.

Thanks

I have the AR8200 MKIII, IC-R20, and now the IC-R30. They are all pretty good. The P25 and NXDN are very good on the 30. Civil Air seems also real good on the 30. Scanning seems faster on 30 than 8200 or 20, but have not done any precise measurements. I am very pleased with the 30. Really good MW and SW performance for an all-band radio. Better than the IC-R20 in my opinion.

I have the 8200 MK3 and use it often, especially for VHF UHF air. I have been using the IC-R-30 for about a week. The R-30 stays right with the very sensitive 8200 MK3 in air bands VHF and UHF. I've been surprised how much the IC-R30 pulls in just using the telescoping antenna.
I haven't seen any frequencies or ranges missed by the R-30 that the MK3 receives either on my discone or the Diamond RH77 antennas, telescoping etc with the R-30 having P25, NXDN etc of course.
I haven't had time on HF, shortwave yet with them running side by side yet but will soon.

The display on my IC-R30 has a dark area at the bottom but replacement on the way so hopefully it's just this unit. I expected the display to be a bit better overall with better resolution and visibility but still very impressed and pleased with the IC-R30 performance.

Last night around 2200 EDT using the supplied telescoping whip on the IC-R30, easily able to pull in HF on 11.175, MWARA and AIRINC traffic Atlantic and quite a bit on 40 meter and 80 meters. (It also found two LED lights that were blasting out harsh interference.)
The AR8200 MK3 pulled 11.175 and some of the AIRINC more weakly with it's telescoping but not as clearly and definitely the IC-R30 had clear signal above the noise significantly better than the AR8200 MK3 with strong thunderstorms 15-30 miles to my SW. Never getting rid of the 8200 but even more impressed with the R-30.
