Icom IC R-71a

Have just moved house and when i set up my Icom IC R-71a and turn on, ths tuning dial moves but the frequency numbers do not.
I can't tune my receiver.
Any suggestions how to fix.

Isn't there a dial lock button that disable the dial wheel?

Yes i had already disengaged the"Lock" button but tuning dial turns but frequency counter does not.

Does the direct-entry keypad function normally? How about the VFO buttons? Was the receiver powered on when disconnected from or connected to power? Also, how long was the receiver not connected to a power source during your move?

Bad contact in the lock button? Try and switch back and forth while turning the dial to see if it comes to life and you need to use some contact spray on that switch. Even if there are a LED or display indication that it is unlocked, it is not the same contact switches that cuts the signal from the dial.
