Anyone hear the Streator Starcom site lately? A few of us haven't heard it in awhile. I always see Streator pd amt using Ottawa or Pontaic sites any more. Does anyone know whats up?

I just noticed that a couple days ago. Was wondering what was up myself. Was just sitting down to post about that. I cannot pick up that tower from my house, otherwise I would try to search out something. I can only pick it up when mobile. Not a good environment to be doing a search.

Terry Weatherford recently posted that he has seen many changes recently with the freqs used at the SC21 700 MHz sites. Try searching the 700 MHz band and hopefully you'll confirm the current control channel for that site. Those using Pro96Com software should be able to see a list of active frequencies after the control channel is found.

PLEASE submit the updated frequencies (along with the site number) to Radio Reference!

I also felt Streator PD have been quiet. I was able to pick them up on sun. It was on tower 207 which is in Livingston county I believe. They used to send calls by computer from dispatcher to car. That seemed to change when LivCom in Pontiac started dispatching them.

So I did a search of the 700 band. I picked up some buzz on 774.5937. Kinda weak. Not sure where its from. I noticed that I have not been picking up the Ohio tower either. I guess it could be either. Ohio has a stronger signal where I live than the Streator tower.

EDIT: Never mind. Just found 774.5937 on the Metamora tower. (03/26 @ 3:25 PM)

Did you search from 769-776? I've seen Site 101 & 102 has freqs in the 769.xxxxx range.

I'd also check 800 mhz incase they did like site 110 years ago and switched the control channel from 700 to 800 mhz.

My search was from 760.000 to 780.000. I'll try searching in the 800 range as well. I'll let you know. I'm in a valley here in Central Marshall Co., so I may not pick up a lot of the sites far away. However, somehow, I'm picking up the Illinois City site out by Rock Island on a pretty regular basis. I must be in just the right spot.

According to Unitrunker, the new control channel in Streator is 773.80625. This data was gleaned from the peer listing when monitoring the LaSalle site control channel. I do not have voice channel info as of yet, as I live too far away to pick up the control channel directly.

I can pick up Ohio - it's new control channel is 770.19375, with (so far) voice channels 770.69375, 773.31875, and 769.94375.

Hand held BCD 396 XT with a 800 MHz Antenna. Freq 852.3250. Why do you ask?

Just wondering how good your signal is and how many towers you are able to monitor. I'm getting these towers from my place in Henry. 114 (Providence), 131 (LaSalle), 216 (Metamora), 231 (Congerville) and, 237 (Peoria County simulcast). At times I will get 118 (Illinois City), 133 (Ohio) and, 142 (Streator), I'm also using an outside antenna about 25 feet up with a 996P2.

In Joliet I get T102-So Chicago Hts, T113-Will Co, T125-Grundy Co and T126-Aurora....The T126 I receive with a attic antenna, its the only one that will receive it 25 miles away....I have (4) RS 25-1.3 mgz grnd planes in the attic and (3) Channel Master 5094A on the tower....Some days it seems 700mgz signals are too strong and I get signals from a tower from too many angles creating some dropouts but changing around antennas cures the problem....
