Recently I was over in Danville at the VA. Above building 102 is a fan dipole antenna. This is interesting!

I have tried multiple searches. Of course I tried the database on here. So far I have found nothing.

Anyone have any information?

Could be an ARES (Amateur Radio Emergency Service) Deployment Set-Up

There may Possibly be a HF Station Located in the Bldg for Disaster Comms

I could not get to close but the antenna did not seem to be set up in a hasty manner. Looks like a permanent installation.

ipfd320, do you know of any listing of HF freqs for VA disaster comms?

The guy I need to talk to is the person with the automobile parked nearby that had a VHF/UHF antenna on the roof and a screwdriver antenna on the back of the vehicle. I have a feeling he would have more information.
