Elkhart Indiana Police Frequencies

I've been told that the Elkhart Indiana city police have switched their radio frequencies to the 800MHz public safety frequencies. Does anyone know what those frequencies are and for how long have they been in effect? Any help is appreciated!

They have moved to SAFE-T most likely. This is a trunked radio system. And, the TGs for the Elkhart Police are digital, so if you do not have a digital scanner you cannot monitor them.

The first has backup info for EPD and so forth and the other are SAFET on the statewide system. Note the D in the mode column designates digital transmissions so you will need a digital capable scanner. I'm not cetain but at one time there was a lot of use of encryption on the PD channels.

Elkhart City PD uses SAFE-T. Elkhart county still uses the VHF frequencies. I listen to them quite often. I am in the area at least once a week.
