Anyone have any ideas on who ISP 5715 is? Checked the ISP Identifier on the Indiana WIKI and no 57 prefix unit numbers are listed. ISP 5715 had traffic with ISP Dist 52 on talkgroup 4192 on Tues evening 1-8-13 around 9:25PM. Inquiring about State Road 9. This could be Hancock or Madison County

While much was a matter of debate, and 57 wasn't specifically Identified this thread may send you down the right road....
http://forums.radioreference.com/indiana-radio-discussion-forum/217631-isp-unit-numbers.html

Likely a special designation or with a class graduating recently, the result of more troopers hitting the road and the need for more unit IDs. The use of the word likely being indication of speculation based upon the previously linked thread.

57-15 is probably a Hancock Sheriff unit....with Safe T, its not hard for a Local to talk to ISP dispatch...Our officers do it all the time when there is an accident on I 70 or some other assist call with State!

57-15 was not a Hancock County Sheriff unit. This was a ISP Unit. The officer told ISP Dist 52 Radio that he was ISP Unit 57-15. There is no prefix unit id on the thread for 57. Hancock County Sheriff was working the accident on their talkgroup( not talkgroup 4192.) Thank You.

Hancock ****y would be 30 prefix numbers as 30 is issued to Hancock County. There is no 57 prefix unit numbers on the Indiana WIKI Indiana State Police unit numbers. Who is 57-15? We help each other on this fourm when we have a question. Listed are 56 and 58 but no 57. I just asked a simple question usswood plain and simple. If anyone would know who 57-15 would be for State Police would you please let us know so we can get the Indiana wiki State Police unit number list updated, I did find 57 as listed as Noble County on Safe-t under the data base. If this would have been a Noble County unit the officer would have indiated that he was from Noble County. It was not Noble County. The officer stated that he was ISP 57-15. Repectfully Submitted.

my fault Tim, I looked it up wrong....57 is Noble County, He might have been passing by, what was the traffic he advised Indianapolis? Maybe that will help narrow it down who this might be!

ussword, no worries. He advised ISP 52 Radio that he was on the scene on a accident in Hancock County on State Road 9 which runs north and south thru Hancock County. When ISP 52 Radio asked for the unit number of the unit working the crash in Hancock County he advised it was ISP 57-15 and he gave Indianapolis Radio his PE Public Employee number for the off duty log. Thanks for your help.

as 30 is issued to Hancock County
Issued? Really? By who?

Each individual agency can identify however they want. There are many counties who don't identify using their county prefix. When was the last time you heard a 49-xx unit in Marion County?

This was a 57 unit (57-15)who said he was ISP. He gave Indianapolis Dist 52 Radio his PE(Public Emploee number and said to put the infomation on the off duty log at the post. I hear ISP Dist 52 cars all the time on IDPS(MECA) talking to IMPD SE all the time. Boone County Sheriff is 06.,Hendricks Couny is 32, Johnson County is 41. Sheby County is 73, Hamilton County is 29. Putnam County is 67. I hear all of the above agencies use the county prefix all the time. When a Marion County Sheriff Deputy or IMPD gets on IDPS They identify as Marion County Sheriff unit #. Also IMPD will do the same thing. IMPD Unit # Adam-201. If this was not a ISP Trooper then why did he give his PE Number (Public Employee number and tell the post to put his activity on the off duty log? Counites that I monitor still use what was ssigned to them. This is the way it has been for years back to the day on Plan A 155.130 Base to car and 154.890 Car to base. Marion County Sheriff used to be heard on Plan A all the time talking to Hendricks County. Listen to Plan A 155.130 as some counties STILL Use Plan A and cannot afford project safe-t radios. Plan A is stll used outside the Central Indiana area.

Well on the West side, thats pretty much standard!

Vigo 84-xx units
Vermillion 83-xx units
Sullivan 77-xx units
Clay 11-xx units
Putanum 67-xx units
Parke 61-xx units
Greene 28-xx units

with the various local Pds usually jus using there city name plus a number...ex Jasonville - 2, West Terre Haute 23...and so on

Newton uses 56, Jasper 37, Pulaski 66, Starke 79, Benton 4, Laporte dont use the prefixes, neither does Lake or Porter.

Like in Newton County, Kentland Units are 56-80s, Goodland 56-50s, Morocco 56-90s, Brooke 56-70s, I have heard a 56-60s a long time ago but not sure what that was, and all the County Units are 56-0 thru 56-18 19 or 20 , the 56-25 and a couple others are Animal Control.

Jasper County is 37-70s and 37-80s are Remington and Wheatfield PDs.

Just some input LOVE AND BLESSINGS

Yes MCSO ID's as Sheriff 9XX usually, and IMPD with the usual A-F XXX, BGPD with Beech Grove XX, etc. I have heard a few ISP Units on IDPS, but its rare. All local agencies that were Plan A now monitor JMA TG's on SAFE-T in the Central Indiana area. I hear Hendricks County several times weekly on JMA-1 doing BOLO's.

I have heard every morning, ISP Unit Designations from everywhere checking in and out with D-52 Dispatch.

Counties outside the Central Indiana area do use the county prefix unit numbers. ISP units are heard on IMPD SE all the time.Plan a 155.130 is stll in use today statewide. Some Counties cannot afford the price tag on project safe-t so they are stil using vhf frequncies. I have never heard a 57 unit checking in with ISP 52 radio marking 10-41 or 10-42 in the district
