Hi folks,

Up on the north side of Indy, someone is using 151.820 for some kind of automated system.

All I've heard is an automated voice, saying "Alert, zone 1" or "Alert, Zone 2".

I'm picking it up pretty strong at 108th and College.

That language sounds like some kind of fire or alarm system. Any thoughts?

BTW, that's the only MURS activity I heard up here, except for an occasional trucker or two up and down 31, just West of me, or the garden center down at about 103rd and College who uses 154.600.

Regards,

Rick N9GSU

Its most likely a Ritron Alerting Transmitter.. They were popular in the 90's for remote monitoring of contact points ( water alarms, entry alarm or any other alarm contact).. when an alarm point closes the transmitter keys up and transmits a pre recorded message than un keys.. If the contact is still active, it starts over.. They were synthesized so Frequency was programmable...

Interesting. I had not heard of that company. There is a new Church that opened about the time I started hearing this, I wonder if it might be coming from there? Regardless, thanks for the info! :)
