MidAmerican Energy new trunked system

MidAmerican Energy based in Davenport has a new trunked system at least in the Quad-Cities area. It a MPT1327 analog multi-site. I have been watching what I call the Davenport site with unitrunker and so far have the following:

I can hear 5 MPT1327 control channels from Des moines: 451.075, 451.9125, 452.0125, 452.3875, 452.850. I am not set up to monitor them right now, though.

I'm getting about the same information as you off of Unitrunker,


1-6306 is getting lots of hits, but only from two different radios.

1-8105 is all affiliations... not one call.

1-6312 I heard somebody talking about various circuits...

I'm seeing hits on 6 different LCN's but I could only locate 4 frequencies...


EDIT:

Browsing through the licenses, I did locate a Couple for Bettendorf that are licensed for a total of 6 trunked frequencies

Also, I was hearing a conversation between multiple parties all coming from the same source ID of 1-1044. Maybe this is a patch into their old system? I dont know anything about their old system.


This system looks to be rather large as there are licenses (and an MPT 1327 CC) Where I live in Fort Dodge.

I have added this system under Scott and Rock Island counties. I'm not terribly familiar with MPT1327 trunking, But I added the information that I could confirm for myself to the DB.

I am currently sorting through a bunch of data I got off the FCC's website regarding licensing for other sites.

Just starting to map out the system in Fort Dodge, and just like the Bettendorf system, affiliations to 8185.

I don't use any trunking software from my discriminator tap, but I can tell you that there are some new MPT-1327 cc's in NW Iowa as well and GenMen says they're owned by MidAmerican Energy. The one I know the most about is near Hull on 451.550. I have also monitored what I assume to be Rock Valley and Hawarden towers on 451.250 and 451.700 respectively. Very little traffic.

I know I used to see MidAmerican on RACOM, but I think that's only the gas division -- and that was sold, was it not?

Last I knew they were on an 800 MHz system of some kind before this.

The list above changed before I was able to start monitoring. I can no longer hear 451.075 and 452.850 but now hear 451.375 and 454.100 instead.

I am using Trunkview because it lists neighboring sites and their control channel LCN's. I was having trouble with Unitrunker providing the proper LCN of the control channel on some sites.

This weekend I got a new SDR and have it running with unitrunker and now that I have it running on the MidAmerican MPT-1327. I was wondering if any of the other posters to this thread have any new information about the trunk system? It seems that 1-8185 is the one with the most affiliations .

452.3375 is definitely Bettendorf. I get a weak cc on 451.9125 too weak for unitrunker or trunkview to decode.

I am getting 6109 & 6149 as peers for 6F01 Bettendorf. I presume these are Louisa Generation Station and Iowa City, maybe Riverside Generation Station?

1-8185 is probably GPS communications as most ot the mobiles in the area come up here first.

One problem I notice with unitrunker that a transmission happens on the control channel for the AVLS TG then the program seems to stall.

The Fort Dodge site is showing three adjacent sites that have not been identified yet.

MidAmerican doesn't have 24 hr operations in my area, so the system is completely dead right now. I'll log for awhile in the morning to see what pops up.
