I’m here visiting here from out of State. Was so surprised to hear nothing on the LE Channels. I visit CR and Marion annually. It’s really sad to hear they are encrypting these channels now.
I have been a Scanner hobbyist since the mid ‘70’s. I remember they would sometimes “Scramble” certain conversations. It was actually quite easy work around and listen to these conversations. But, encryption is a whole different thing. Anyway, burglars and thieves had the ability to scan these conversation for decades. Why all of a sudden does this come as a surprise that the public actually listens to scanners? It’s nothing new.
I know that “Streaming”these broadcasts has really heightened awareness to how many people are using their phones to listen. But, they should just delay this type of monitoring to like 30 Minutes. It keeps the public informed without jeopardizing logistics. Just my opinion.
