Have the gone Digital and can they be monitored with a Dig Radio?

I hear them on occasion in NE Iowa on the old Freqs.

The Iowa State Patrol is still able to be heard on the same frequencies they have always had but it is my understanding that their car to car channels is now digital in almost all areas of the state.

Yes a lot of the car-to-car and talk-around's are now digital, at least in Dist 3.

I haven't heard any digital comms in dist 11 yet? Maybe I'm not listening enough :)

In Post 12 only CAR(155.430) is in P-25. Heard them fine with a BC796D . I didn't get to the State Fair (first time since 1976). Were any of the state channels in digital?

Anyone hear the DOT MVE Repeaters in P-25. In Eastern Iowa we have 151.400 "Scott Channel" MVE and ISP use it for MDCs and the MVE use it for P-25 voice (rareky).

Most of the MVE car-car traffic in the Sioux City area is P25 on 151.400. It is very active. Traffic on 155.970 is still analog. The only ISP digital I have heard is on 155.430.

How was the State Patrol mobile Spectra radios set up channel list wise? the Spectra had a max of 16 channels per scanlist. So I wondered if they had each District as a scanlist and each repeater site listed by name for both DPS/LEA ?

Or was each site list by site and DPS/LEA then followed by the simplex channels.

154.920 is used at Casinos for the DCI.

Michael: I have also heard 154.920 used for air surveillance from what sounded like a Helicopter following suspects here in eastern Iowa.
