I've not seen Great Plains Energy active in a long time. This appears to be KCP&L.

From a reliable utility insider....

KCP&L uses VHF DMR III

It is all VHF, no 900 Mhz

The power plants use UHF (in plant only) – no DMR

So in the KCP&L service areas and the areas they took over
expect to find VHF DMR in place of all the former fragmented LTR/TypeII/Conventional systems that were once the main stay of the giant utility.

Hope this helps..

Thanks. Yesterday, they were testing some new talk groups. Sounds like they are just getting it up and running.

KCP&L Network is L1. What frequencies are you monitoring?
