The Calloway County Sheriff's office has received a Kentucky Office of Homeland Security grant to implement a new radio system. The new radios will apparently use VHF instead of UHF currently used by the department. The grant was for around $19,000, and the new system should be operational by Spring of 2018. I haven't searched around to see if this will be a P25 system, or if licenses have yet been issued.

KY Homeland Security will not let you spend their funds on DMR. Has to be analog or P25.

If Jackson Purchase is selling the system it may be a DMR system just a thought. $19,000.00 will not buy many P25 radios.

Good to know but still at $1,000.00 and up for Motorola P25 Conventional Portables and $1,5000.00 and up for Motorola Mobiles at 2 year old Government Contract Pricing does not look to go very far. Not sure how they are going to do this unless they are doing a matching grant.
