The TK-860 is a UHF 32 channel radio. I scans, does PL and DPL. It does not do alpha display in the readout (that is, you will see Ch 1, Ch2, etc). The stock radio is 25W. There is a TK-860H that does 35W.
The radio can be face programmed after removing a jumper in the radio and enabling the feature in SW. The radio same in 3 band splits. The 450-470 MHz split will do the amateur bands without retuning. Otherwise, the radio is fully programmable via software. The radios are quite sensitive and do not overload due to intermod in high RF areas.
The follow on radio was a TK-860G. That radio is a 128 channel radio with alpha
There is no TK-870 model. There is a TK-880 but it does not do the amateur bands w/o retuning. THe TK-880 is an LTR/conventional radio.
