frequiency not accepting

i am trying to program a frequency 173.39625 in my kenwood tk 2170 and after i type it in it changes. this is the first frequency i have seen with 8 numbers.. any help would be appreciated..

Soo.. where did you get the frequency information from?

No radio will take a xx.5 digit frequency.

xx.39625 is not a valid frequency. it would be closer to xx.3960, xx3965. can even be xx.3625

I would verfiy the frequency.

173.39625 is indeed a valid frequency. It is a shared public safety and business/industrial SCADA channel limited to 6 kHz bandwidth.

SCADA. according to the Wiki you listed, is a data telemetry system, why would you want to listen to data transmissions?

Try programming the closest 12.5 channel that the radio will accept and see if that is good enough for what you want to hear.

2170 Won't do 6khz. That's why.

NX200 man.
