• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

Hi Quick question,

I Have programmed in 3 channels that are in the 433 mhz range and the radio works ok on these channels but beeps for about 20 mins why on these channels before it stops beeping.

why looking in the Programming software under advanced settings it has tuning point Low 450.05 and low2 467.55

is changing the low point here to 433.0 going to mess up the tuning of the radio and will it stop the annoying beeping.

Those are Error beeps because the PLL is unlocking because it is out of band. Also you are using a mobile radio in a low power radio band.
1.You can make the PA draw high current and burn up and die.
2.You could be interfering with Burglar Alarms, Life Safety Pendants, TV Remotes, Wireless Door openers, ECT.
LPD433 (low power device 433 MHz) is a UHF band in which licence free communication devices are allowed to operate. The frequencies correspond with the ITU region 1 ISM band of 433.050 MHz to 434.790 MHz, and operation is mainly limited to CEPT countries. The frequencies used are within the 70-centimeter band, which is traditionally reserved for higher power amateur radio operations in most nations worldwide.

LPD hand-held radios are authorized for license-free voice communications use in most of Europe using analog frequency modulation (FM) as part of short range device regulations,[1] with 25 kHz channel spacing, for a total of 69 channels. In some countries, LPD devices may only be used with the integral and non-removable antenna with a maximum legal power output of 10 mW.

Voice communication in LPD band was introduced to reduce the burden on the eight PMR446 channels over shorter ranges (less than 1 km) .[citation needed] In some EU countries voice is not allowed over LPD.

I have a Ham licence and the only 3 channels being programmed are 3 ham repeaters, so will not be interfering with anything the unit is not pulling any more current than the normal channels and the rf output power is also the same, also not located in the us or eu. I was just trying to avoid also installing a ham radio in the vehicle.
