If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Hello everyone:

Can anyone tell me where do I fing the setting to adjust the squelch on the TK-380 on the programming software?. All channels that don't have encode tone stay open all the time.

Thanks

Hiding in a coffee shop.
Easiest way to do it is to program a button for squelch. Once that is done, you can press the button and adjust as needed.

I can find the specifics, but not until I get back into the shop on Wednesday. I set up a bunch of TK-390's this way a few weeks ago.

Great idea, but the rub with this series is that squelch level is not available to assign a button. The only way to set a squelch level is with programming software.

Well it's a friends radio and I'm programming it for him. I can see in the menu where one can assign a button to squelch, but there's no more adjustment options on the software menu..

Perhaps you're looking at the selection for monitor carrier squelch in the button menu? That's not what you want. You need what's called Squelch Level and is not found in that model radio.

The only squelch adjustment is in the test mode section of the software and you have to have the radio connected to enter that menu section. It's easy to bump it up several points, exit and test to your satisfaction. However refrain from diddling other items in the test menu unless you know what you're doing.
