Default Kenwood TK-5210 setting

I have a TK-5210 K2 and it has been awhile since I programmed one. Right now the light will come on only when I press the assigned light button. Where in the settings can I make it so everyy time I change a channel or press a button the light will come on? Thanks in advance.
I was trying to daydream, but my mind kept wandering.

Under "Optional Features"
"Common Page 1".

Click the "Auto Backlight" box.
If you have a key already programmed for "backlight" it'll be greyed out. Assign that key to something else, and it'll allow you to choose it.
