New Orleans LWIN question

I'll be in New Orleans and wanted to listen to NOPD districts 2 & 8. Do the NOPD dispatch talkgoups correspond with the districts, so to monitor district 2 I listen to NOPD D2?

Yes exactly but keep in mind they will be patched so if you want to listen to the 2nd you will hear the 2nd and 6th.

The 8th depends on the day they are patched with the first but weekend it’s not patched

So now NOPD is showing all encrypted on the LWIN system, so I may have wasted my time setting this up...... Wait, little "e", so partially encrypted?

No they are not I don’t know who did that, all of their DISP channels are not Encrypted

I didn't get to do much listening while there, not surprising.

I did note that most if not all of the NOLA EMS units were encrypted, while EMS dispatch was not. And there was mixed e on some talkgroups, including Tulane's campus police. Sounded like some of the units were running encryption while most were in the clear.

NOPD district 8 was busy, and entertaining!

Ems portables are encrypted, while consoles and mobiles are not.
