Here in Wisconsin, the band has been pretty good the past two days. Haven't heard much up FM up on the top end, but lots of low power beacons in the 28,200 to 28,300 khz range and some loud SSB stations as well.

Almost every time I tune across the beacon section of the band I hear something, even at 2am.

Call CQ.

Yep, it's been crazy! Plus those CBers have been having a field day down on 11 meters. Lots of activity on 10 this afternoon as well!

Unfortunately for the RAC winter contest, us weaker stations had problems with the Sun activity killing a lot of the other bands.

I Managed Brazil and New Zealand yesterday around noon central time. I just took a peek at 10 right now, but can't hear anything at all so far.

I'd love to get on the air and make some new contacts for 2016. Unfortunately, though, because of the storms that rumbled through the South on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day my dipole antenna is laying on the ground. I doubt that I'm the only ham with this dilemma this week.
