Default "Mystery Radio" Question

I recently stumbled upon one of these on eBay:

Raytheon Standard Radio Model STR2000 MF HF Str 2000 | eBay

Can anyone tell me anything about it? I can't seem to find anything online about it.

I see plenty of info online about it, not sure why you can't find it.

Perhaps start here:

Now that ships don't have radio operators, they have to have an automated distress transmitter/receiver that can be operated by 'unskilled' persons. They transmit on a variety of frequencies so that the signal can be picked up by local ships if any, HF radio stations and satellites. Once contact is established they can use handset to speak to whoever answers. See the Wiki on GMDSS...

Yeah. I think I probably looked at it under "Standard Radio" as opposed to Raytheon. Anyway, how is this thing wired? It doesn't seem to have any external connectors for power or RF, and I can't seem to find an installation manual anywhere.

From briefly skimming the manual above it appears that what you are looking at is just the control unit, not the transceiver itself. One piece of the puzzle, if you will.
