Hey
I travel next Month to Greece. If I could find some Cheap Ferry ride I want monitore AIS.
Is there an Free Software who make it easy see my Position and the Pos of other Shipps?

I know AIS Plotter but it cost...

Try AISMon for decoding and send the output to OpenCPN for plotting. I'm assuming you have SDR or a tapped scanner to serve as a receiver. I've found that it can be problematic to send the data though if you don't have an internet connection, even though the data is going to your own computer.

the problem is I live thousand KM away from the sea. I cant test it now.

If you have a mobile device with Internet you can go to various sites like aprs.fi and it will show you locations of ships at sea, ham radio operators, fire trucks and just about anything that reports into public systems.

onboard an ferry is no internet connection.
I want to receive them by myself. The SDR Part isnt any problem only the software after.
