I-CALL MEMA Testing

Noted MEMA doing some testing of 800 I-CALL this afternoon. Reception was poor in Northern Balt Co. I'm curious how reception was at other points in the Balt Metro area.

Dave there are no transmitters in Northern Baltimore Co. that is why it sounded so poor. The only towers that are close to you would be Westminster and Owings Mills.But right now the Owings Mills site for 8-call is inoperable. In phase 2, more towers will be added but right now there are only 9 towers that carry the 8-call channel in the Central MD Area(CMARC).


The MD Eastern Shore Interoprability Network(MESIN) has 12 sites that carry the 8-Call channel. I am not sure if there are any other phases for them or if they will add anymore sites.

Uh not really but most of them are either exsisting towers in local jurisdictions or state owned towers. I just dont really wanna give them out(I hope you understand).
