They are. They usually get used on an ad-hoc basis when other systems are unavailable or inconvenient for tactical operations. Most frequently, I see a few federal users hop on there for interagency tac between themselves or when coordinating with local agencies. Once in a while they also end up on there in either simplex or repeated mode when they can't use their own nets (down/out of range) and they're in the middle of a surveillance effort.

Thanks! I guess it is worth adding them into the radio. Just never heard anyone talk about them before.
