I finally got around to tuning into the Balt area SKYWARN net earlier this week, when the significant storms rolled through....it was actually quite active w/ reporting of conditions from around the region. 147.03 MHZ.

I just took the class last week. Although it was very informative the instructor seemed to only speak on tornadoe activity. The last time I checked Maryland seems to get more heavy rain, wind and snow activity.
In his defense he did mention at the end of the class that there are several other Skywarn classes to take.

The 147.03 repeater system is maintained by the Baltimore Amateur Radio TV Society (BRATS), with several recieve sites throughout Baltimore county...as for the Frederick area, it looks like the 147.06 MADXRA repeater is a secondary to the Hagerstown net. You can find more information about that on the Skywarn Subnet page. 73s Mike
