"A Friends of Ours" brought it to my attention that the Maryland DNR is now using more UHF. He has noticed new UHF antennas on the vehicles and they are carrying UHF portables now. I realize the they are licensed for UHF channels but I believe most of them were Simplex. Does anyone have any info as to why the added usage of UHF? What are those channels primarily used for? Does anyone know the frequencies? I will be searching the ULS for some info but I imagine that this isn't the first observation.
