MPSCS issued a notice that all system users attending Trooper O'Neill's funeral shall switch their radios to G EVENT 2. Users are told NOT to remain on a local talkgroup while enroute to, attending, or departing from the service. They cited tower loading. The bulletin also indicated that NCC would be monitoring this.
Guess they finally decided to crack down.

Visitation is today in Davison; funeral Tuesday in Auburn Hills.

They've done this before with meetings as well. Since a talkgroup must be able to transmit on all sites in which a radio has affiliated to that talkgroup, too many active radios on a single site can cause busies 200 miles away.
