Grand Rapids new to scanning

Would appreciate any help and advice on this question. I bought my wife a uniden BCB436 last year. I would like for her to connect with a group or individual who will be willing to share with her what the capabilities are. There's already police frequencies inputted, but was wondering what else she could do with the unit. Prefers not to just do youtube video watching but rather actually ask questions of someone.

I think you mean BCD436. It supports digital and analog you should be able to hear allot in the area with this radio.
