I will be attending above noted show and thought I would ask the folks at the base whether or not I can take a scanner in to the airshow....... this is there email response I received today June 13 2017, just an FYI for others attending.

Yes, you can bring the scanner as long as it's a handheld unit. When you go through security it will need to be inspected, but it will not be an issue.
You'll also want to tune in to FM 89.5 (WSKB) throughout the day of the show - it will be continuous, ad-free "airshow radio" featuring alot of live airboss comm, as well as performer interviews and traffic & weather updates.
